Christmas is almost here! Christmas is a time of the year when people are more receptive to the idea of Jesus. Don’t pass up this opportunity. Make a real push to reach out to the lost in your community. We have some great ideas for your Christmas outreach this year.
1. Get the Word Out
One of the most important parts of any outreach event is letting people know about your event. If your event is not advertised, the attendance will be minimal. There are many ways to get the word out about your event. You can pass out fliers, mail out invites, or go door-to-door with door hangers, to name a few. Be sure to also advertise your event on your church website and share to your social media pages.
2. Show A Christmas Movie
One of the many things people look forward to during Christmas time is watching all those wonderful Christmas movies. Take advantage of this! Fill your auditorium seats with the people in your community for a showing of a Christmas favorite. You can serve cocoa and popcorn as well. Once you get them in the doors, you have the opportunity to get the gospel into their hands and hearts.
3. Go Caroling
Organize a group of church members to go caroling in the neighborhoods in your area. This will get you door to door with the opportunity to pass out Christmas tracts and invites to your church for Christmas.
4. Send Out Christmas Postcards
Wish the people in your community a Merry Christmas by sending out postcards, and invite them to attend your Christmas services.
5. Attend A Community Christmas Event
Many communities will have special events around Christmas time. Whether it be a festival, bazaar, or parade, this is a great opportunity to pass out gospel tracts and invite people to you Christmas service.
6. Stuff Stockings For the Homeless
Take donations of necessities and special treats to pass out to the homeless. Be sure to include the gospel in every stocking, and an invitation to your Christmas service.
7. Rent Out A Skating Rink
Rent a local skating rink for a few hours and invite the community to skate on your dime. You will have a captive audience to pass out tracts and witness to.
